South Holland Master Chorale History
Known for many years throughout the Chicago South Suburban and Northwest Indiana region as the South Suburban Chorale, the South Holland Master Chorale still provides the area with the finest in choral literature performance. Membership is open without audition to anyone interested in performing great choral masterworks. We have over 100 members and are recognized for our notable performances including Beethoven s Ninth Symphony, Carl Orff s Carmina Burana, Mozart s Grand Mass in C minor, Mendelssohn s Hymn of Praise, and most recently the Mozart Requiem, Bernstein s Mass, a concert version of Gershwin s Porgy and Bess with the Illinois Philharmonic and rousing performances of Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living in May 2022. Chicago Gargoyle Brass and Organ Ensemble also accompanies the chorale during our Christmas and other programs. |
