The 100-member Chorus of the Marin Symphony is featured yearly in the Symphony's concert programming. The 44-member Chamber Chorus sings annual Holiday Choral Concerts in the San Rafael Mission Church. These concerts are presented on the first weekend of December and include a mix of world Holiday music, featured youth choirs, vocal soloists, Marin Symphony instrumentalists, smaller vocal ensembles, and audience-sung carols. This celebrated chorus consists of some of the finest vocalists in Marin County. In years past, they have performed works with the Marin Symphony such as Orff's Carmina Burana, Poulenc's Gloria and Requiems by Brahms, Durufle, Faure and Mozart, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the exciting premiere of Rob Kapilow's Chrysopylae/Golden Gate Opus in 2012. Marin Symphony is honored to welcome Kevin Fox as its choral director. Born and raised in San Francisco, he has enjoyed a rich and diverse career as a singer, conductor, and teacher. Fox brings a fresh and energetic approach to the Marin Symphony Chorus, with an engaging mixture of wisdom, warmth, wit, dedication, expertise, and enthusiasm. |
