Afro Blue

Howard University's premier vocal jazz ensemble, Afro Blue was formed in the spring of 2002. Since its inception, this dynamic jazz choir has quickly gained national attention.

In 2003, Afro Blue received the Downbeat Magazine Award for Best College Jazz Group. The following year they received another Downbeat Award for Outstanding College Jazz Choir. In 2007, Howard University graduate student Quincy Phillips also won a Downbeat Award for Best College Jazz Arrangement for his treatment of the Dietz and Schwartz standard "Alone Together," which he arranged specifically for Afro Blue.

Afro Blue has performed at many prestigious venues in and around Washington, DC, including the Library of Congress, the Carmichael Auditorium at the National Museum of American History, the State Department, the Lincoln Theatre, the Warner Theatre, the Japanese Cultural and Exchange Center, Twins Jazz Club, and HR-57.

American River College Vocal Jazz Ensemble

The American River College Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Arthur Lapierre has been in existence for 13 years. American River College is a two-year institute of learning in the Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento, California. During this time the Vocal Jazz Ensemble has received 7 DownBeat Awards from DownBeat Magazine. Most recently, in 2010, the ensemble won the Best Undergraduate Vocal Jazz Ensemble Award for their newly released CD; Your Eyes. The ensemble has previously appeared before the International Association of Jazz Educators Conferences in Toronto, Long Beach, and New York. In 2010 the ensemble appeared before the ACDA Western Division Conference. In March of 20111 the ensemble will sing before the national conference in Chicago.

Belmont Chorale

The Chorale is the flagship, classical choral ensemble of the School of Music at Belmont University. It is also one of the earliest performing ensembles in Belmont's musical history. This auditioned, mixed ensemble performs diverse literature from all genres, and is currently under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Ames, Director of Choral Activities.

The Belmont Chorale has a distinguished history. It has been recognized for its musical excellence with performances at MENC conventions and the Southern Division of the American Choral Directors Association. The ensemble tours annually and has enjoyed great success with European tours. International performances include the St. Moritz Festival in Switzerland (1985 and 1987), Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia (1989), England (2004), and the Republic of China (2007).

Bemidji Choir and Chamber Singers

Dr. P. Bradley Logan, Professor of Music, is the Director of Choral Activities at Bemidji State University, where he conducts the Bemidji Choir and the Chamber Singers, and teaches conducting along with voice. He has served on the faculties of the University of Montevallo, Louisiana College, California State University, Long Beach, and Pelham High School. Dr. Logan holds his B.S. in Vocal Music Education from North Dakota State University, his M.A. in Choral Music from California State University, Long Beach, and his D.M.A. in Choral Conducting and Literature from the University of Illinois. He is Executor of the Edwin R. Fissinger Musical Estate and serves as co-editor of the Edwin Fissinger Choral Series published by Meadowlark Music Publications.

Bowling Green State University Men's Chorus

An auditioned large ensemble open to all male students at Bowling Green State University, the chorus' motto and reputation as "America's Finest Singing Machine" is well deserved, emanating from over 35 years of musical excellence. The ensemble encompasses students from all majors; over half are non-music majors, representing all seven colleges at the University.

The chorus organizes and presents two tours each academic year. Fall finds the singers traveling to locations in Ohio and Michigan, performing at high schools during the day and various concert venues in the evenings. The spring tour ventures to a new location each year, and past trips have taken the men to Colorado, Florida, New York City, Washington D.C., and Toronto. These off-campus pursuits provide opportunities to perform for diverse audiences, serve as musical ambassadors for BGSU, see different parts of the country, and bond and create lasting friendships with fellow chorus members.

BYU Concert Choir

Brigham Young University Concert Choir comprises 100 advanced singers who are committed to a challenging choral experience. This very select ensemble has acquired an outstanding reputation for its captivating performances of a wide variety of repertoire taken from the great choral literature, encompassing many different styles and genres.

Although the Concert Choir does not generally tour, they have a rigorous performance schedule both on and off campus, which requires substantial dedication and stamina. All programs, which usually contain pieces in several different languages, are performed from memory. Although the huge variety and quantity of literature demands enormous flexibility and commitment, the rewards in terms of both educational and musical experience are rich and plentiful.

BYU Men's Chorus

The Brigham Young University Men's Chorus is thought to be the largest collegiate male choral organization in the country. Founded in 1958, it has steadily grown to its present membership of 190 voices, with over 400 annually auditioning for the ensemble. As a result of its versatile literature and engaging performance style, the BYU Men's Chorus has captured the admiration of audiences throughout the Western United States and beyond. Each year the choir includes a diverse and unique representation of the university community. Choir members originate not only from the United States and Canada, but from countries throughout the world. Of the 190 members only 18 are music majors with the remainder drawn from every college and department of the university. Over 130 members of the chorus have served LDS missions throughout the world, and a large number are planning to serve after their 19th birthdays.

BYU Singers

Brigham Young University Singers is a small, select choir of flexible singer-musicians. As one of the major touring ensembles of the university, the Singers have traveled throughout the United States, including Hawaii; twice to Russia; three times to Israel; to Australia and New Zealand; to the countries of Western and Eastern Europe, including the Baltic States; to West Africa; and to South Africa. The choir traveled through the British Isles in May 2009, placing second in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at the Cork International Choral Festival. The choir has attained the reputation of a captivating, versatile choir with an impressive range of repertoire and style.

BYU Women's Chorus

The Women's Chorus is a large group of select, versatile singers who perform a diverse repertoire extending from medieval and renaissance works to masterpieces of our own time. Folk music and other varied genres are included in the choir's study and performances. The choir is well known for its beautiful, blended sound from pristine, quiet unison to the majesty of large textured sonorities. Sensitive musicianship and constant improvement are goals for each rehearsal and performance. An audition is required, and a two semester commitment is expected.

Choir of Clare College

Since the founding of a mixed voice choir in 1971, the Choir of Clare College has gained an international reputation as one of the leading university choral groups in the world. In addition to its primary function of leading services three times a week in the College chapel, the choir keeps an active schedule recording, broadcasting, and performing throughout the UK and the world. The choir has been fortunate to have had four very fine directors: Peter Dennison; John Rutter; Timothy Brown; and since 2010, Graham Ross.

The choir has toured widely, including in Europe, the United States of America, Japan, China, Russia, and the Middle East. In 2000 it became the first Oxbridge mixed choir to perform at the BBC Proms, singing Bach's St John Passion. The choir has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in performances of Handel's Jephtha in Spain, Belgium, the UK and the USA under the direction of Rene Jacobs, and again in performances of Mozart's La clemenza di Tito under Edward Gardner, earning praise for 'thrillingly fresh and feisty singing'.

Choir of King's College, Cambridge

The Choir of King's College, Cambridge is one of the world's best known choral groups, and is the pre-eminent representative of the great British church music tradition.

It is most famous for singing A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, the Christmas Eve service that the BBC has broadcast since 1928, and that millions listen to worldwide. In 2009 the US Library Of Congress added a broadcast of the service to the National Recording Registry, an archive of 275 'culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant' recordings.

Henry VI (1421 - 1471) founded the Choir shortly after he founded the College in 1441. He created the Choir to sing daily services in his magnificent Chapel, and the Choir still exists primarily to sing these services. You are welcome to attend one of these services and hear the Choir sing.

Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge

Trinity's Music Society (TCMS) is one of the largest and most active College societies in the University. There are regular programmes of recitals, chamber concerts and other musical events, with performances at lunchtime or in the evening. Opportunities are provided for all enthusiastic musicians; it is not necessary to be highly skilled to enjoy

Recently voted the 5th best choir in the world in Gramophone magazine's '20 Greatest Choirs', The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge comprises around thirty Choral Scholars (all of whom are ordinarily undergraduates of the College) under Director of Music, Stephen Layton.

The College's long and distinguished choral tradition dates back to the fourteenth century, when former Chapel Royal choristers studied in King's Hall, which later became part of Trinity College. The Choir's main focus during term is the singing of the liturgy in the College Chapel, exploring a wide-ranging repertoire drawn from both Catholic and Protestant traditions.

Choral Society of Pensacola

The Choral Society of Pensacola, a staple in the arts community, exemplifies the city's history of support for the fine arts. The story of the people who created and sustained the Choral Society of Pensacola enlightens our view of how and why this expression of music, passionately supported then, continues today. Their story also adds to our understanding of how the Pensacola community changed over time as women found increased status and power through social organizations. Community organizations revealed how a society reacted to the repercussions of world events, such as war and natural disaster.

Cuesta Voce

Voce is the premier vocal jazz ensemble at Cuesta Community College in California. Since it's inception in 1981, the ensemble has toured extensively through the West Coast and has toured Europe eight times. Voce has received numerous awards including an Outstanding Performance Award from Downbeat Magazine, First Place at the 1998 Reno Jazz Festival, Second Place at the 2003 Reno Jazz Festival, and invitations to perform at the 26th and 30th Annual Conferences of the International Association of Jazz Educators in 1998 and 2003. In 2005 Voce was one of three vocal jazz ensembles from the nation that performed, by special invitation, at the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association. Voce also traveled to Europe in 2005 with the Cuesta Chamber Singers. The tour included two performances at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Voce returned to Europe in summer 2008 to perform at the Festival en Provence in France. Voce has recently released two CDs, "Just One of Those Things," in April 2007 and "Timepieces" in January 2008.

East Carolina University Chamber Singers

Because of the more demanding rehearsal and performance schedule, the 32-36 voice Chamber Singers invites only the most gifted and passionate choristers from ECU to be amongst its ranks. Designed to perform twentieth-century a cappella repertoire at a professional level, this ensemble also delves into the repertoire of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries on a biannual basis in order to present baroque masterworks using historically informed performance practices in collaboration with ECU's Early Music Ensemble. The televised performances of G. F. Handel's complete Messiah performed on original instruments in the spring of 2003 attracted impressive audiences and earned rave reviews. The Chamber Singers, most of whom are voice majors from within the School of Music, tour annually and received a standing ovation for their performance at the 2002 NC-ACDA conference in Greensboro, NC. The Chamber Singers will combine with the University Chorale and the ECU Symphony Orchestra to perform at the 2003 Fall NCMEA Conference in Winston-Salem.

Fisk Jubilee Singers

On November 16, 1871, a group of unknown singers -- all but two of them former slaves and many of them still in their teens -- arrived at Oberlin College in Ohio to perform before a national convention of influential ministers. After a few standard ballads, the chorus began to sing spirituals -- "Steal Away" and other songs" associated with slavery and the dark past, sacred to our parents," as soprano Ella Sheppard recalled. It was one of the first public performances of the secret music African Americans had sung in fields and behind closed doors.

The Jubilees not only introduced the world to the music of black America, they championed the liberties of all Americans," says Andrew Ward, co-writer of the documentary and author of "Dark Midnight When I Rise: The Story of the Jubilee Singers." More than 125 years later, the Jubilee Singers of Fisk University continue the concert tradition begun by that courageous original chorus of former slaves.

Foothill Gospel Choir

Gold Company

The Gold Company Program is widely recognized as one of the most successful and prestigious collegiate vocal jazz programs in the world. The award-winning ensembles perform a wide variety of repertoire which covers all styles in the contemporary vocal idiom. Gold Company has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South Africa. The groups have appeared at Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, the World Symposium on Choral Music, the national conventions of MENC and IAJE, and divisional and national conventions of ACDA, as well as performing at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and the 1st Annual Ella Fitzgerald Vocal Jazz Festival. Gold Company has also appeared with guest artists including Bobby McFerrin, Janis Siegel, Mark Murphy, Rosemary Clooney, Kurt Elling, The Manhattan Transfer, Jon Hendricks, Darmon Meader, and Don Shelton and Bonnie Herman of The Singers Unlimited.

Harvard Glee Club

America's oldest college chorus, the Harvard Glee Club was founded in March 1858 by the president of Harvard's Pierian Sodality and several of its College friends. Over the rest of the 19th century, HGC numbered about a dozen or two men and sang a repertoire ranging from old European and American college and folk songs to contemporary art songs to popular operetta/show tunes, often combining with banjo and mandolin ensembles and local bands. Its performances were not limited to metropolitan Boston but extended throughout the Northeast.

In the early years of the 20th century, many HGC members were also singing in the Harvard University Choir. They appreciated the advantage of the vocal training and of learning sacred music, and they gradually convinced the Club to ask the University Organist and Choirmaster, Dr. Archibald T. Davison, to coach HGC. From 1912, "Doc" Davison expanded the Glee Club's musical horizons and improved its vocal/choral abilities, as a larger HGC performed solo concerts as far afield as the Midwest. During this period, Doc began combining HGC with the women of the Radcliffe Choral Society for large choral-orchestral works; and in 1917, HGC and RCS began singing these works with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, an association that continued into the middle 1970s.

Harvard University Choir

Approximately 50 singers form the Sunday Choir, a group that performs a wide range of choral literature for the Sunday services of The Memorial Church in Harvard Yard. The choir attracts singers who like a challenge, singing a wide variety of music at a professional standard with a weekly performance deadline. The group performs in the annual Christmas Carol Services and Spring Concert, and collaborates with other musical groups, both on and off campus. The Sunday Choir also undertakes both international and domestic tours. In recognition of their commitment, all members of this group are paid. Auditions for positions in the Sunday Choir are held early in the Fall Term.

Iowa State Singers

The Iowa State Singers is a 72-member mixed choral ensemble comprised of students from all areas of study at Iowa State. This select ensemble performs the finest literature from Renaissance to contemporary. In addition to performing various concerts locally, the Iowa State Singers tour annually and present an authentic Madrigal Dinner every January.

Last year, the Iowa State Singers were honored with an invitation to perform at the 2009 ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) National Convention, Thursday, March 5, in the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, OK. The Singers were one of just six collegiate choirs selected nationally to give solo performances. Thousands of choral conductors from the United States and abroad were in attendance. The Singers were last honored with an ACDA National Convention appearance in 2005, where they gave three performances before enthusiastic audiences in Los Angeles, CA.

Iowa State Statesmen

The Iowa Statesmen, one of the region's leading men's choirs, was founded by Dr. Rodde in the fall of 2000. The ensemble meets three times per week, MWF, 1:10-2:00 p.m., and specializes in the performance of traditional and contemporary male chorus literature. The group gives various performances during the year and enjoys playing an active role in the Iowa State community. In addition to annual fall and spring concerts, the Statesmen annually join the other three ISU choirs to present both the Holiday and Masterworks Concerts, each with orchestra.

The choir also embarks on a brief regional tour every spring. In 2005 the men sang for large enthusiastic audiences in Davenport and Waterloo. Each concert closes with the rousing ISU School Songs -- a great tradition.

Lund University Male Choir

As the starting date of LSS is most often used November 20, 1831. This was the first time a male quartet appeared at a concert in Lund, although there had been more or less loosely organized exercises for a couple of years. In 1833, the name LSS is referred for the first time, although at this point in time it is an abbreviation of Lilla Sangsallskapet (The Small Song Society). Five years later, the constitution of Lunds Studentsangforening appeared.

From the beginning, Sven Loven was the conductor of the choir with Otto Lindblad as his right hand, and it seems as if Lindblad gained the role as the choir's leader from 1835. The early repertoire consisted mainly of German songs mixed with a few contributions of Lindblad. Over the years, he would provide more and more compositions.

Luther College Aurora

Aurora is one of six auditioned choral ensembles at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Established in 1981, the group is comprised of 100 first-year women, selected each fall by audition. They perform on and off-campus for worship services, participate in the annual Christmas at Luther concert and Dorian Vocal Festival, and present a spring concert with the Norsemen, Luther's choral ensemble for first-year men.

The choir has also participated in Luther performances of major choral/orchestral works, such as Beethoven's Mass in C major and Bach's The Passion according to St. John. Conducted by Dr. Sandra Peter since 1992, Aurora has performed at several regional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association. The word Aurora, Latin for dawn, represents the first light of day, or for these women, the beginning of their college experience and journey as independent scholars.

Luther College Nordic Choir

Nordic Choir, founded in 1946, enjoys national and international acclaim as a premier collegiate choral ensemble in the United States. Following the 57-year tenure of Weston Noble, Nordic is currently under the direction of Dr. Allen Hightower, named director of choral activities at Luther College in 2010.

Nordic Choir has toured extensively throughout the United States, performing in countless churches, schools, and concert halls, including Lincoln Center, New York; Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.; Orchestra Hall, Chicago; Orchestra Hall and the Historic State Theatre, Minneapolis; the Ordway Music Theatre, St. Paul, Minn.; Walt Disney concert Hall and the Crystal Cathedral, Los Angeles; and the Mormon Tabernacle, Salt Lake City. Nordic Choir has also appeared at national American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conventions in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Kansas City, and at the Music Educators National Conference in Kansas City, Mo.The choir was selected to perform at the 50th anniversary national convention of the ACDA in Oklahoma City, March 2009.

Luther College Norsemen

Norsemen is the first-year men's choir consisting of approximately 90 men selected by audition. Besides performing at the annual Christmas at Luther performances, the Norsemen also assist in Sunday and daily chapel worship, and present a spring program with Aurora, Luther's choral ensemble for first-year women. They also travel off campus throughout the year to sing at worship services at area churches.

Manitou Singers of St. Olaf College

Comprised of select women's voices from the first year class, the Manitou Singers is one of the most popular music organizations on the St. Olaf College campus. Despite a complete turnover in personnel each year, the 100-voice choir sings at the opening worship service of the college as well as at various campus functions throughout the year such as daily chapel and church services, the annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival, Family Weekend Concert and its own Spring concert in April. With a repertoire that ranges from sacred to secular to popular ballads, the Manitou Singers have broad appeal both on and off campus.

Millikin University Choirs

Showcasing its reputation for tonal diversity, the University Choir is garnering wide acclaim for it's varied styles and unique programming. In 85 years of touring history the choir has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad. The Choir's extensive touring history includes performances in Scandinavia, Russia, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, England, China and Taiwan. This summer the choir is planning a Celtic Tour of Scotland and Ireland.

The choir's new CD, Hearts All Whole (2010) is available through First Step Records. In addition, the choir has several other CDs to its credit, including last year's live recording of the 51st annual Vespers at Millikin, a tradition that attracts 7,000 annually.

The University Choir has been invited to perform before three Regional and one National Conference of the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA). They are one of five university mixed choirs invited to perform for this years' ACDA National Conference in Chicago. The choir will tour Ireland and Scottland in May of 2011.

Northeastern University Choral Society

The Northeastern University Choral Soci­ety fos­ters aes­thetic and edu­ca­tional expe­ri­ences through the rehearsal and per­for­mance of choral music, and pro­motes har­mo­nious social inter­ac­tion among mem­bers of the North­east­ern community. Mem­bers of the Choral Soci­ety come from all back­grounds and majors, and any inter­ested mem­ber of the NU com­mu­nity (student, faculty, staff) is eli­gi­ble to join.

Notre Dame Glee Club

Recognized as one of the finest all-male collegiate choral groups in the country, the University of Notre Dame Glee Club has a rich history of singing and brotherhood spanning the last ninety-two years. More than 2,000 young men have sung with the Club over the years, combining the rich traditions of Notre Dame with the highest standards of artistic excellence.

Since 1915, the members of the Glee Club have enjoyed an exciting fraternal organization combined with an intensive study of vocal technique and musical styles. The group has toured from coast to coast and around the world, performing over one hundred concerts per year. As musical ambassadors of Notre Dame, the Glee Club has always been welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm.

Ohio State University Men's Glee

The Ohio State University Men's Glee Club was organized in 1875. It is the oldest of hundreds of student organizations available to students at the university. The group has exemplified the university's dedication to tradition, excellence, and diversity.

During its history the OSU Men's Glee Club has garnered worldwide accolades. Most notably, the Men's Glee Club was unanimously declared "Choir of the World" in 1990 under the direction of Professor James Gallagher in Llangollen, Wales. The OSUMGC was the first male chorus and the first ensemble from the United States to win the competition. The Men's Glee Club has performed at many OMEA, MENC, and ACDA conventions, proudly representing the university at state, regional, and national levels. In 2006 the OSUMGC traveled to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to perform for the 42nd national seminar of the Intercollegiate Male Choruses, Inc.

Ohio State University Women's Glee

The Ohio State University Women's Glee Club was established in 1903. This ensemble has the distinction of having been the first campus musical organization to appear in concert in Mershon Auditorium. Membership in the Women's Glee Club has steadily inscreased over the years, as the ensemble becomes better known within the OSU community. The WGC represents a wide variety of majors and interests, with singers ranging from freshman to graduate students. Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt has been the director of WGC since 1993.

OneVoice

OneVoice is the flagship ensemble of the vocal jazz program at Millikin University. Begun in 1986 by the group's musical director and keyboardist, Stephen Widenhofer, OneVoice is one of two vocal jazz groups at Millikin University. OneVoice has been specially recognized by DOWN BEAT magazine several times and has been invited to perform at various educational conferences and collegiate jazz festivals in the United States. Last year the ensemble was one of two vocal jazz ensembles featured at the national convention of the American Choral Director's Association in Oklahoma City. OneVoice regularly tours regionally and has toured the Dominican Republic on three different occasions.

P.M. Singers

Formed in 1982 by students of the esteemed director Phil Mattson, members of the P.M. Singers became identified with the Phil Mattson School and many have gone on to great professional and academic success in their own right. (Two examples are Joe Finetti, who now sings with The Bobs, and Michele Weir, a respected educator and arranger.) This mixed group has the talent and range to master the most technical of charts, as well as the warmth and emotion to stir the heart-witness"A Child Is Born," with a facile piano accompaniment by Phil Mattson himself, who plays keyboards throughout. Many of the arrangements allow one voice to solo, adding and subtracting harmonies for interest and variety. "I'll Be Seeing You" is a cappella and allows the melody to shine, gradually opening up the song with a frugal harmony that never interferes, but builds to a subtle crescendo and then resolves to an elegant closing cadence, the lead voice holding the final note while the lower parts complete the subject. A pleasure to listen to and a model of arranging virtuosity.

Princeton Singers

The Princeton Singers is a small, professional, independent chamber choir. In recent years, it has earned a reputation as one of the nation's preeminent chamber choirs. Founded in 1983 by John Bertalot, then choir-master organist at Trinity Church in Princeton, New Jersey, the ensemble was soon hailed by critics for its clarity of tone, elegance of execution, and purity of tuning. Since being appointed Artistic Director in 1998, composer-conductor Steven Sametz has expanded the group's repertoire to range from medieval to modern, including gospel, jazz, and popular song. Today, The Princeton Singers is a vital force in the creation of new works for choir. Both through a strong commissioning program and participation in workshops for aspiring composers, The Princeton Singers is strongly committed to the creation of new choral repertoire.

Radcliffe Choral Society

The Radcliffe Choral Society, founded in 1899, is the soprano-alto choir of Harvard University.

Sacramento State Vocal Jazz Singers

The vocal jazz program at Sacramento State is under the direction of Kerry Marsh. The program consists of the Jazz Singers, C-Sus and Vox 2, all of which are formed by audition. The sounds of Sac State Vocal Jazz are influenced by the great vocal jazz groups of the past and present: The Hi-Lo's, Singers Unlimited, Take 6, New York Voices, The Real Group, Manhattan Transfer and others. However, the program strives to explore.

Although much of the study focuses on group sound, improvisation and solo singing are also important aspects of the program, with a thriving bachelor's program in jazz studies/voice. Jazz voice majors (currently eleven in the program) study privately with the outstanding jazz vocal artist Julia Dollison.

Saint Mary's College Women's Choir

Saint Mary's College Women's Choir, a select 40-voice ensemble, regularly commissions and performs new works for women's voices. An outgrowth of this emphasis is the publication of the Saint Mary's College Choral Series, a collection of new works for women's voices, published by earthsongs of Corvallis, Oregon. The Choir has performed throughout the United States and has appeared before state and division conventions of the Music Educators National Conference and the American Choral Directors Association. In February 2005, the Choir appeared before the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association in Los Angeles, performing in Wilshire Christian Church and the new Walt Disney Concert Hall. Each November the Choir hosts the annual Saint Mary's College High School Women's Choir Festival, in which 20 choirs from neighboring states perform for each other and a panel of commentators. The Choir tours nationally every other year, and regularly performs with the University of Notre Dame Glee Club in joint performances of major works with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. They have appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall in 1999 and 2001, and returned there in November 2005 to perform music by Gwyneth Walker for women's voices and orchestra.
