Group.
Nexus' definition in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is an accurate depiction of this quartet's blending of voices and personalities. Comprised of life long musicians, NeXus continues to grow in popularity in the Barbershop Harmony Society and throughout the country. Initially Novice Champions in 2003, Rocky Mountain District Champions in 2004, International competitor in 2005 & 2006, this group is delighted to be out and about performing throughout the country! With their smooth blend, ringing chords and fun personalities, the energetic group stages one of the most entertaining shows available today.
Nexus is made up of four enthusiastic barbershoppers who continue to advance the art form and capture the hearts of their audiences. Ryan Wilson, the quartet's lead, is a multitalented musician and accomplished performer. In fact, Ryan set a Rocky Mountain District record with 4 district quartet championships to his name. The bass of the quartet, Mark Zenk, is known for one of the lowest voices around and is an active barbershop competitor and busy performer, traveling nationally with various a cappella groups. Mike Davidson, the group's baritone has been active in a cappella & barbershop groups since the ripe old age of 8 and brings an extensive performance background to the group. And saving the best for last, the final member is tenor, George Davidson. In addition to being Mike's dad, George was the baritone of Classic Collection, 1982 International Champions, and he has been actively performing world-wide for over 25 years.
When you put them all together, NeXus truly makes a remarkable sound and lights up the whole room with their dynamic and fun personalities. It's obvious they love what they do, and their audiences love it too. So we invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sweet sounds of this special quartet - NeXus.

These Foolish Things
Review: This Denver-based quartet has roots in the Denver A Cappella Project, and includes tenor George (of 1982 Gold Medal-winners Classic Collection), his son Mike, baritone, bass Mark and lead Ryan. At the 2007 Barbershop Harmony Society contest in Denver, Following the release of this, their debut recording, NeXus moved up from 27th place to 19th place in the elite top 20 in only their 3rd year of competition. We particularly appreciated the songlist in the liner notes, that included some of the group's influences: "Just A Gigolo," inspired by Classic Collection, "The Dock of the Bay" and "Stand By Me," inspired by Rockapella, and "Don't Worry Be Happy," inspired by the Blenders. Other favorites are "Orange Colored Sky," "Gospel Medley," a bluesy "Summertime," "Under the Boardwalk," and "Mean to Me." Great stuff from this popular, fast-rising, veteran quartet!
