We are the Harborlites Chorus, over 120 women who meet weekly to sing, to dance, to learn, and to teach the art of vocal a cappella and barbershop music.

Based in Anaheim, California, the Harborlites Chorus was founded in 1960 as a chapter of Sweet Adelines International to encourage and promote barbershop singing for women. In the ensuing decades, Harborlites has grown both in numbers and in recognition, winning both regional championships and international medals, with our performances incorporating fine singing along with innovative choreography and our trademark: energy!

Women of all ages and backgrounds make up the Harborlites Chorus. We have college students and company CEOs, current voice instructors and former ballerinas, international quartet champions and women just learning the art of barbershop singing. Under the leadership of our gifted director, Pam Pieson, we meet weekly to hone our craft and to create harmony.

Harborlites prides itself on performances which present our repertoire ranging from Broadway favorites to poignant ballads to vocal jazz to barbershop classics - all given the Harborlites trademark energetic twist!

Harborlites has several outstanding quartets currently competing and performing around Southern California. We also count several International Quartet champions, International Faculty members, and renowned coaches in the barbershop community among our membership and are proud to have them share their musical artistry and expertise.

Of course, like everyone preparing for the rigors of International competition, the Harborlites also work with world-class coaches.

We hope you enjoy getting to know the Harborlites a little better - and, when you have the opportunity, come hear us "live" at a show or rehearsal. Our energy and enthusiasm are contagious!

In the year 1234 the Austrian wife of Henry the Illustrious brought with her to Dresden a piece of the true cross as a gift, which was for the period immediately following kept in the Church of St. Nicholas. As an addition to this church, the oldest within the city walls, the "capella sanctae crucis" (chapel of the holy cross) was built, the first record of which dates from 1319, when it was mentioned as a place of pilgrimage. This chapel lent its name later in 1388 to the entire church "zum heiligen Kreuz." For some considerable time, ministers and choirboys performed the liturgy, and for the boys' instruction in Latin and music a boarding school was founded, first mentioned in 1300.

Harborlites : Something's Coming

Review: Based in Anaheim, California, the Harborlites Chorus was founded in 1960 and since 1993 has been under the direction of Pam Pieson, the 1990 queen of harmony of the highly regarded Panache quartet. The chorus are winners of numerous regional and international medals and this is their first ever CD recording. Plenty of great Sweet Adeline singing here with particular favorites being the Jay Giallombardo arrangement of Sondheim's "Tonight", the David Wright arrangement of Leonard Bernstein's' "Something's Coming (from West Side Story) and the entertaining opening medley of "Ain't Misbehavin'/Ain't Nobody's Bizness If I Do."

Songlist: Ain't Misbehavin / Ani't Nobody's Bizness If I Do, It's Sand Man, When Day Is Done, The Joint Is Jumpin', With One Look, My Honey's Lovin' Arms, Roses Of Yesterday, You Gotta Have Heart, It's Time, Once Upon a Time, Tonight, Something's Coming
