Nathaniel Voelker has served as an educator, artistic director, music director, dramatic director, performer, speaker, adjudicator, and director of worship for nearly 25 years in NY, GA, MO, and CO. Currently Nate serves as Artistic Director and Conductor of Colorado Springs Soli Deo Gloria Choir, Executive Director of Kenya Methodist University Development Association, Director of Choirs First Universalist Church of Denver, Master Teacher with Music and Arts, maintains a private studio, and appears as guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and speaker. Nate is a member of various national musical and educational organizations and works with professionals and students of all ages and abilities.

As a conductor he has led ensembles that have: toured nationally and internationally, recorded in top studios in Nashville, performed live on NPR, on national festivals, and with various professional symphonies. Nate has had the privilege of guest conducting choruses performing with Sandi Patty, Veritas, Keith and Kristyn Getty, Ricky Skaggs, and several symphonies. His private students have gone on to the highest levels, placing and winning nationally in various vocal competitions, attend the most competitive conservatories, colleges, and universities, and lead professional careers as performers and educators. As a vocalist he has performed and toured internationally, in operatic and choral / orchestral repertoire. He has regularly appeared as a guest on NPR syndicate talk shows in every community he has served. As Executive Director of Kenya Methodist University Development Association, Nate oversees the board throughout the United States, in Kenya, Sudan, and Germany as they work to raise funds for students in eastern Africa and infrastructure, as well as serve as an advisory council to the University administration and leadership.

During the early COVID-19 pandemic, Nate worked remotely as a guest lecturer with community choruses, high school, undergraduate vocal, and graduate conducting students. He also offered separate online lecture and interview series featuring grammy award winning and international performers, conductors, and composers, as well as worked with ensembles, such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and private schools in the United States, as an advisor regarding online streaming content. The focus remained keeping connection and relationships alive for performers, audience members, and donors.

Nate holds a M.M. in Choral Conducting as well as a B.S. in Music Performance, having studied at Emory University, Roberts Wesleyan Collage, Eastman School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Interlochen Arts Academy and Iowa State University; all of which he served in a variety of student leadership roles. Nate grew to be an avid hiker residing in Colorado Springs, CO with his wife Cassie, son Randal, daughter Emma, dog Banksy, and Beta fish, Fishy McFishFace.

Nate has become known as a bridge builder creating connection opportunities with various arts organizations, socially and ecumenically. His work with the Colorado Springs Choralaborative unifying religious based and LGBTQ+ choruses has led to community arts growth as well as strong relationships of respect, understanding, and support.
