Dan Wessler is a barbershop arranger, singer, and chorus director who currently resides in Freeport, Illinois. He has been arranging for barbershop quartets and choruses since 2011. Several groups have sung his arrangements on the Barbershop Harmony Society contest stage, at both the district and international level, to high acclaim. He writes arrangements for BHS contest, as well as for general show performance, and writes arrangements for men's and women's barbershop groups alike. Dan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Bradley University in Peoria, IL, and a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He has been the Director of Choral Activities at Freeport High School in Freeport, IL since 2012. Dan sings bass in After Hours, the 2018 Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Champion, for whom Dan frequently arranges music. After Hours has performed for a variety of barbershop an non-barbershop shows all across the United States, and strives to simply bring joy to all types of audiences through their music. Dan is also the music director for The New Tradition Chorus. The New Tradition Chorus is an award-winning men's barbershop chorus located in Northbrook, Illinois. Chartered in 1982, this Illinois District Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society has a long-standing reputation for delighting audiences through exciting harmonies and memorable performances of songs spanning decades and genres.
