Peder Karlsson Biography

Peder Karlsson was born in 1963 in Stockholm, where he graduated in 1989 at The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm with a master's degree in vocal group performance. At the same time his major studies were arranging and classical composition. From 1984 to 2010 he was a member of the a cappella group The Real Group and held over 2,000 concerts and TV performances in all parts of the world. With the Real Group, Peder recorded 16 CD albums and received two Grammy awards. Currently, Peder Karlsson is in charge of The Real Group's educational and internet activities. In his career outside The Real Group, Peder Karlsson has given seminars at various esteemed music academies in Scandinavia and elsewhere, has held hundreds of workshops for a lot of well-known vocal groups around the world, and was in charge of The Real A Cappella festival in Vasterås, Sweden in 2008. Peder is also the headmaster of The Real Academy - an online school for vocal ensemble music. Member of Real Group - Founder
