Living in: United States

Katharin Rundus, DMA, is a nationally recognized singer, voice teacher and choral conductor. She is the Director of Vocal Studies at Fullerton College where she teaches voice and oversees the more than one hundred and fifty students studying voice either privately or in classes. During her tenure here, she has conducted the Fullerton College Chamber Singers and the Women's Chorale. She also maintains a voice studio at California State University, Long Beach.

Katharin is heard frequently as a recitalist and a concert and chamber soloist in Southern California. Her light lyric soprano voice is especially suited to early music; recent performances include works by Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, Purcell, Haydn and Mozart. She continues to cultivate her love of choral music singing as a professional chorister with the John Alexander Singers in Orange County, California.

Dr. Rundus is frequently invited to lecture on vocal pedagogy at many universities, colleges and high schools, including UCLA and the University of North Dakota among others. She has been a featured clinician at many ACDA conferences, and has lectured about voice science to the NATS-LA chapter. She is the co-dean of "Summer Sing," an annual singer's conference at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where she is a favorite teacher of voice training, vocal health and choral pedagogy. Cantabile: A Manual of Beautiful Singing (Pavane Publishing) authored by Dr. Rundus, was published in 2009, and has become a popular and well-regarded textbook in vocal pedagogy.

Dr. Rundus received the Bachelor of Music degree from Coe College, the Master of Music degree from Westminster Choir College and the Doctor of Musical Arts from the Claremont Graduate University where she studied and researched the use of spectral analysis in the voice studio. Additionally, she has studied the science of vocal production with Ingo Titze and Katherine Verdolini at the National Center for Voice and Speech.
