Victoria Meredith teaches graduate and undergraduate choral conducting methods and vocal techniques, and conducts ensembles. She holds degrees in Music Education (Indiana University, 1972), Voice Performance (University of Northern Colorado, 1975) and Choral Conducting (University of Arizona, 1993). Choirs under her direction have received numerous honours and awards, including six CBC Choral Competition prizes and five performance awards from the Canadian Music Educators' Association. They have performed at conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, the Canadian Music Educators' Association and the Kodaly Association of Canada. Dr. Meredith co-ordinates the Faculty of Music's choral activities and conducts Western's award-winning advanced mixed choir, the University of Western Ontario Singers.
Dr. Meredith's research interests lie in the areas of choral repertoire, rehearsal techniques, the adult choral singer and choral music in Canada. She has produced numerous critical performing editions of renaissance and baroque choral compositions which have been published by Neil A. Kjos Publisher. Her articles on a variety of topics of interest to choral musicians and educators have appeared in the Choral Journal, Anacrusis, the Canadian Music Educator, the Music Educators Journal and other professional journals.
