Ah, yes, we remember Sweet Adelines quartet The LoveNotes, Britanny, Mia, Caitlin and Stephanie from 2009 when they easily won the Bay Area Regional. We had previously seen them in the Regional as UnderAge, after they won the 2005 Sweet Adelines quartet championship for Young Women in Harmony. Now over 18 and calling themselves The LoveNotes, their 12 minute set, featuring a killer rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," won them Audience Favorite and Second Place only to more experienced Sweet Adelines contenders Maxx Factor. The Notes kept rising, and today they're wearing the crowns and gold medals of the 2014 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champions! Their debut CD "From the Heart" has 13 cuts, some favorites are "No, No Norman," "Hooked On This Skype Thing," "I Used to Call Him Baby," the moody Bond and Adele classic "Skyfall," "Something's Coming," "Danny Boy" and "If We Hold On Together," but every cut is a polished winner. Our girls next door have grown up, and they're the best in the world! |
