Many members of Emerald City Voices have been singing together in community and school choirs since childhood. They officially formed in 2005 to sing at the Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition, a charity event benefiting the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank. That year, they placed 2nd in the Best Choral category, and over the following years have placed and won both the Best Choral and Most Creative categories multiple times. Since forming to sing carols on a street corner, ECV has grown from 8 to 12 members, working hard to hone their deep sound and passionate stage presence. They enjoy broadening their horizons by singing in a wide variety of venues around Seattle. In the years they have been singing together, they have performed at Mariners games singing the National Anthem, caroled on the Argosy Christmas Ship, hosted their own benefit concerts for local charities on stages and in backyards, serenaded couples for their engagements and on their wedding days, and had a ton of fun making music together. The joy of singing together is intensified when you love the people you are singing with, and ECV takes that to heart in every rehearsal and performance! Awards |
