Bella Voce Young Women's Choir is based in Rochester, Minnesota. Founded in 2007 as part of the independent non-profit organization Sing Out Loud, the choir consists of 65-70 singers in grades 8-12 drawn from communities throughout southeastern Minnesota. Our purpose is to create an inviting and safe community in which young women can share musical excellence, build confidence, and gain perspective about the world through the gift of music. The purpose of Bella Voce is to inspire young women, through singing, to realize their highest potential in order to more broadly impact the world.
The choir conducts an intensive rehearsal weekly to learn the challenging music repertoire, preparation skills, and presentation strategies. Further, the sessions and concerts are programmed explicitly to discuss and evolve the impact of the choir's music in our lives and community. In addition to our focus on the highest quality choral repertoire and performance, Bella Voce is committed to reach into the community. We also conduct rehearsals at nursing homes, sing at area church services, sing for patients at the Mayo Clinic, and explore other outreach opportunities. Our music is meant not only for ourselves, but also to bless others. We will always be tapping into the pulse of those around us, singing to inspire, and gathering more in our mission to change the world through the spirit of our singing.
All Bella Voce concerts are open to the public without admission charge! This enables us to share the excitement and gift of our music with as many friends, family, neighbors, and community members as possible. During our spring concert each year, we feature a charitable organization of the girls' choosing. Through our sharing together in this way, we raise awareness and money to give back to those in need.

Review: "A Bella Christmas: Angels are Singing" is an aptly-named, live, gorgeous Christmas collection from the pride of Rochester, Minnesota. Most of the songs are accompanied by piano, a brass ensemble, organ, oboe and congas. But the highlight of the album is the high, soaring voices of the 51 singers, in perfect solos and together in glorious harmony. Some of our favorites among the 15 cuts are Z. Randall Stroope's "Magnificat" and "There Is No Rose;" Chris Dedrick's "The Angel Choir and The Trumpeter," Mozart's "Alleluia," John Rutter's lovely "Candlelight Carol" and a cappella "Deck The Hall;" Tchaikovsky's "Dans des Mirlitons" (Dance of the Reed Flutes," Pietro A. Yon's sublime "Gesu Bambino," the traditional song "Cantemos a Maria" (Let Us Sing to Mary); Egil Hovland's "Stay With Us" and the traditional carol "Silent Night." Every cut here is perfect, and guaranteed to bring joyous music to your Christmas celebrations for years to come!
