The fourteen songs in this volume were composed between 2002 and 2009. A set of six, America 1968, represent poet Robert Hayden's view of our country during a volatile time. Glances is a set of seven songs on enigmatic poems originally written in Polish. Insomnia is excerpted from a ten-movement thirty minute piece for four voices.
