Louisville KY also, of course, hosted the 2004 SPEBSQSA International Chorus Competition, which in terms of shear vocal power, is unmatched on this planet! The Gold went to St. Charles, Missouri's dynamic Ambassadors of Harmony, who sing Rogers and Hammerstein's "I Have Dreamed" and Frank Loesser's "New Ashmolean Marching Society and Student's Conservatory Band," which must be heard to be believed. 2nd Place went to The Northern Lights, with "Make Them Hear You," 3rd to New Tradition Chorus, who recall the minstrel shows with Stephen Foster's "Medley: Camptown Races/Ring Ring de Banjo/Buffalo Gals," 4th to Alexandria Harmonizers" with Gershwin's bluesy "Summertime," and 5th to The Alliance, who give us "The Sunshine of Your Smile." A powerful, amazing collection!
