Lincoln, Nebraska's Contemporary Christian male quintet No Better Cause knocked us out with "Sanctuary," and now bring us an amazing Christmas album, "Perfect Peace." The group's refreshingly funky vocal percussion side is evident on most of these 11 group-arranged standards, on songs like "Carol of the Bells," the wonderfully arranged "Little Drummer Boy," "Perfect Peace," "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." The sweet, soulful side we loved on "Sanctuary" is still here, on "Silent Night," "O, Holy Night" and "The First Noel." There's also a pair of nice originals, Fred Hammond's "We Sing Glory," and group member Lucas Kellison's very fine "World Stops." The bottom line here is, we love these guys, and "Perfect Peace" is a joyful Christmas treat from beginning to end! |
