The Acappella Company brings us another Contemporary Christian winner from the 3-part "Praise and Worship" series from Tennessee. Again, the names, pictures and indeed any personal information about the mixed-voice chorus are omitted from the liner notes, placing the focus squarely on the music and the message. The purpose of the CD being to glorify Jesus, not the egos of the singers, we respect this and find it commendable. The songs are largely originals written by Keith Lancaster, Gary Miller and John K. Green.16 upbeat, positive songs, from "Give Thanks," "Shout of Praise" and "More" to "Open My Heart," "Lord, I Want to Be a Servant," the title tune and "I'm Free." There's not really a weak cut here, and the feeling and spirit carry throughout. Recommended! |
