Another two-for-one re-release featuring 18 songs. The Acappella Company has created a dynasty, and their recordings are always exceptionally well produced and arranged. When they interpret a gospel tune or spiritual, however, they absolutely shine. The versatility of the stylistic embellishments that they routinely employ is amazing, and it's these nuances - a bar of rhythmic counterpoint here, a half step swoop into a repeating phrase there - that bring such lasting satisfaction. 'Old Time Gospel' is exactly that, while 'Stamp of Approval' is lifted straight from the Philly school of '70's soul; 'There Is No Excuse' is an midtempo raver that is part O'Jays and a little bit urban too.
