This arrangement is an almost literal, note-for note adaptation of Aaron Copland's variations on the Shaker tune Simple Gifts as it appears in his orchestral suite Appalachian Spring (rehearsal numbers 55-67). The Variations have been arranged for SATB chorus and piano in a wonderfully singable and exciting setting.
