Inspired after a visit to Assisi, the composer uses as text the Italian version of the beloved Blessing of St Francis, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” The beginning and ending of the piece feature a beautiful unison melody; the middle section divides briefly into 4 parts for a dramatic contrast. |
