Eric Whitacre's work Sainte-Chapelle was written for the Tallis Scholars and inspired by the medieval Parisian chapel. It depicts that stained glass masterpiece through sustained plainchant-like lines which gradually divide into more and more parts, creating shimmering tone clusters for a rich and expressive outpouring of sound. |
