We have come to expect certain things from 4-man Acappella, one of the most talented and prolific Gospel groups. First, that producer Keith Lancaster would pen and arrange at least half the songs, and second, that the deeply felt leads and harmonies would be perfect. "Hymns" surprises in that it's a cover CD, with only arrangements from Mr. Lancaster. That said, the arrangements are incredible! 10 songs" "All Hail The Power," "When I Survey/Old Rugged Cross," "Softly and Tenderly," the driving, rhythmic "Rock of Ages," "Holy, Holy, Holy," a jazzy, joyous "In The Garden," "Just As I Am," the stunning "Amazing Grace," a reggae-flavored "Blessed Assurance" and a personal favorite, " It Is Well." It is as if we are hearing these beautiful songs for the first time. Another triumph for Acappella!
