The musicians of Mountain Blue bring a new blend of music that has been called fresh, alive, and heartfelt. Their foot-stomping renditions of songs like "Gospel Train" and "Roll Back the Stone" make it nearly impossible to sit still in your seat. Other favorites like "Abide with Me" and "Amazing Grace" with their simple but stylistic arrangements will stir your soul and evoke a spirit of peace. Mountain Blue will breathe a breath of fresh air into any music library.

For those who like to shout "Hallelujah!"

Mountain Blue was formed in the fall of 2003 when two choir conductors from Brigham Young University got together to perform a piece of southern gospel music "just to hear how it sounds." The two searched among their musically talented friends until they felt they had formed the perfect bluegrass quartet--a unique a cappella combination of three guys and a gal.

Inspired by old-time bluegrass musicians like the Stanley Brothers as well as newer groups like Blue Highway and Signature Sound, Mountain Blue began performing regularly at BYU's semiannual A Cappella Jam. More recently, they have opened for other a cappella groups, including Vocal Point and Noteworthy, performed in a cappellastock at the Ogden Amphitheater for a few thousand audience members, and sang on a cruise ship to Cabo San Lucas. They also received the Judges Choice Award at the BYU Talent Showcase in 2006. Their debut CD, Gospel Train, was followed two years later with another collection of songs called Roll Back the Stone, and their newest self titled CD "Mountain Blue A Cappella" was released with Covenant Communications in 2008. They have also appeared on radio, on television, and on other compilation albums.

Mountain Blue is a Bluegrass, Southern Gospel, A Cappella Quartet from Utah. The motto for their music is "anything about Jesus." If you love the music from the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" with a gospel flavor, you'll love the music of Mountain Blue.
